Keep the video and control paths explicit
An FPV drone combines a camera path, a receiving and display path, and a flight-control path. These paths interact, but a clear picture or an onboard processing result does not prove that the complete aircraft is ready. Define what the selected module supplies and what the customer must receive, interpret and validate.
Begin with the pilot workflow
Record where the image is captured, how it reaches the receiver or goggles, and which information the pilot needs to see. If the configuration adds OSD, recording or onboard processing, describe each handoff separately. Do not infer a supported data format or control protocol from a connector photograph.
Specify the interface before connecting it
Identify the exact hardware revision, connector orientation, pinout, direction, voltage level and protocol. Record the receiving device and software version. A familiar protocol name is a starting point for review, not evidence that every controller configuration is supported.
Evaluate timing and recovery
Check the complete camera-to-display delay under the intended configuration and load. Define how stale frames, missing results, a receiver restart or a lost input will be identified during evaluation. The flight controller and pilot workflow remain customer responsibilities; a video module does not replace them.
Treat optional AI as a separate configuration
Where an exact model documents onboard recognition or tracking, review the selected camera, lens, scene, firmware and output interface together. An algorithm demonstration does not establish compatibility with a particular FPV aircraft. Separate the video result from any customer-side decision about using that result.
Build a reviewable sample test
Start on an appropriate evaluation setup. Record module revision, power source, camera mode, interface, receiver, display, software and test conditions. Agree pass and fail criteria before the test. Changes to the camera, firmware, link or controller should trigger a review of affected checks.
